Manning Bowman 1930's Connoisseur Cocktail Shaker

Manning Bowman & Co. was founded in 1832 and was located in Meriden, Connecticut for most of its existence.
The company was noted for its variety of Art Deco kitchenware, barware and electrical appliances made out of chrome and other metals.
With the end of WWII, the company ceased its operations.

Stunning and sleek, the Manning Bowman "Connoisseur "was advertised in the Manning Bowman catalog in 1936. Shaker can be found in the Stephen Visakay's Vintage Bar Ware guide on page 62. Design is Machine Age modernist with a simple cylinder shape and vertical speed lines impressed in narrowing proximity as the lines ascend to the top &
the golden arinite pour spout cover (early Bakelite-type plastic). Bottom is marked Manning-Bowman, Meriden, Conn. U.S.A.

Excellent condition. There are no structural issues whatsoever; no dents, splits, pitting or out-of-rounding. Built-in strainer is clean.
11 3/4" tall to top of "Arinite" cap. Not easily found, this one will be an awesome addition to your Art Deco/vintage barware collection.
